About Us:

Growing Roots Preschool is a nurturing and engaging learning community dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education with a focus on Montessori-inspired, child-centered development and outdoor exploration. We are excited to launch a new 0-3 program and seek a passionate individual to bring this vision to life.

Position Overview:

This is a unique two-phase opportunity to develop and lead our new 0-3 program. In Phase 1, you will play a crucial role in setting up the program, including licensing, classroom setup, and policy development, while also having the opportunity to sub in our existing 3-6 year old classroom. In Phase 2, you will transition into the lead teacher role within the 0-3 classroom.

Responsibilities:

Phase 1: Program Setup & Development (Initial Phase)

• Work closely with Custer Lutheran Fellowship and state licensing agencies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

• Develop a program outline incorporating Montessori principles and best practices for the 0-3 age group.

• Assist in the selection and procurement of appropriate furniture, materials, and equipment for the 0-3 classroom.

• Create and implement program policies and procedures.

• Gain familiarity with Growing Roots' operations and Montessori philosophy by providing substitute support in the existing 3-6 year old classroom.

Phase 2: Lead Teacher (Following Program Setup)

• Lead daily classroom activities, providing individualized support and guidance to infants and toddlers.

• Observe and document children's progress and development.

• Foster a positive and respectful learning environment that encourages exploration and independence.

• Collaborate with parents to support children's development and address any concerns.

• Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers and volunteers.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with infants and toddlers preferred.

• Willingness to obtain Montessori training in infant/toddler education.

• Understanding of child development, particularly in the 0-3 age range.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Passion for early childhood education.

• Ability to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.

• Must pass a background check.

Compensation:

• $17.50 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
